Every word lights up as it is read
Hearing a word and seeing it at the same moment is what builds the sound-to-symbol link early reading depends on. GlowReader keeps the two locked together, word by word.
Point your phone at a book. GlowReader reads it aloud, lights up each word as it goes, and explains the hard ones in language a child understands.
Any printed page — a schoolbook, a library storybook, a worksheet from class. No special editions, no scanning, no typing.
GlowReader reads the page aloud at a pace you choose, lighting up each word exactly as it is spoken.
Your child taps any word they do not know and gets it explained at their level, in the language the page is written in.

Tap a word and the explanation comes back in words a seven-year-old actually uses — spoken aloud, in the language of the page, without ever leaving the book.
Eleven Indian languages, detected from the page itself. No menu to set, no wrong-language mispronunciation — it simply reads what is in front of it.
Hear one word on its own, as many times as it takes.
Slow it right down for a new reader, speed it up as they grow.
Recent pages stay in the library, ready to open again.
Large targets, no menus to get lost in, nothing to accidentally buy.
Most reading apps built for Indian children read English and little else. GlowReader reads what the book is actually printed in — and switches without being told.
Nothing is shown to your child that you did not choose to put in front of them.
Photographed pages are stored so your child can reopen them, and are deleted when you delete them.
Account deletion is in the app, takes effect immediately, and removes the pages with it.

No. GlowReader is built for the stage before fluent reading — your child follows the highlighted words while hearing them, which is exactly how that stage is practised. It works just as well for a child who reads confidently and hits the occasional unfamiliar word.
Any printed page you can photograph clearly. School textbooks, storybooks, comics, worksheets. There is no catalogue to be limited by, because the book is whatever you are holding.
Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Odia and English. The language is detected from the page, so a Hindi book and an English book both just work.
There is a free tier with five page scans a month, so you can see whether it suits your child before paying anything. Pro is ₹199 a month and lifts the limits. You upgrade inside the app.
They are stored against your account so your child can reopen them, and you can delete them — or your whole account — whenever you want. We do not sell data and there are no ads in the app.
